If you've ever been a fan of Diablo or, to a lesser extent, 2D Zelda, I would give it a solid recommendation. Nevertheless, Nobody Saves the World has a lot going for it. ![]() I think I'd have been happier if the other two classes that were locked behind story progression had been accessible earlier while keeping the final one intact as an optional side quest. I'm guessing the developers did this in an effort to prevent the player from accessing the best classes too early, but the final class is already locked behind an optional side quest that requires most of the overworld to be explored. This made it feel like I wasn't making forward progress with my builds for awhile and it hurt the pacing for me. I found myself maxed out and unable to upgarde them former since I hadn't reached a certain point in the main quest. What holds this back from being a classic is that things do start to get a bit repetitive once the easily accessible classes are unlocked. This allows for a lot of experimentation which becomes mandatory as the dungeons increasingly introduce modifiers to both the enemies and your character while inside. The game really hits its stride once you gain the capability to mix and match abilities and passives onto whichever transformation you are using. As you play more, you'll unlock around 15 different classes all with their set of unique abilities and a passive skill. The best part of this indie title is how it allows you to "transform" into many different creatures/classes. The art design is really fun and quirky even if the writing did leave much of a lasting experience. ![]() While I've played few dungeon crawlers in recent years, this titles blending of the genre with a 2D Zeldaesque map with a number of secrets and quests to complete made it a pretty unique experience. ![]() It was a fun 20ish hours of dungeon crawling and experimentation. 80% PCI jumped on this once I found out it would be leaving Game Pass this month. ![]()
